Studying the molecular mechanisms governing cell division

A post-doctoral position is available in the Wilde lab (http://individual.utoronto.ca/wildelab/ ) in the Dept. of Molecular Genetics  at the University of Toronto. The Wilde lab has a long-standing interest in the molecular mechanisms of Cell Division and the available position will follow up on recent discoveries underpinning the regulation of distinct actin networks required for successful cell division in mammalian cells (Nat Comm 2021 12:2409, J. Biol. Chem 2020 295:3134) and expand in to other cellular roles of actin.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a PhD and expertise in imaging (both fixed a live cell analysis) and/or biochemistry (in particular protein expression and purification and in vitro binding assays). Experience in studying the cytoskeleton will be an asset. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
